When it comes to fulfilling a lifelong dream, it’s never “too late” to start for Madam Iris Low. With full support from third generation Peranakan Chef Gabriel Chong (a.k.a Baba G), the two gourmets with a combined age of more than 120 years old, decided to join hands to share their wealth of culinary experience at IGGI’s Kitchen!
Iris, a real estate agent who’s a Cantonese, is the resident chef at home and a big fan of soup. She loved whipping up a feast for her loved ones and inherited numerous heirloom recipes from her family.
Baba G, who had the honour of preparing six tables of 8-course Peranakan set for late President Wee Kim Wee, grew up in the aroma of spices and started his first culinary adventure as a 10 year-old. He later hone his skills under the guidance of pioneer Peranakan chef in Singapore, Baba Jolly Wee, and ran a restaurant for 6 years in Chiang Mai before returning to Singapore.

Paired with a comforting bowl of clear fish broth with thick bee hoon, prawns, bitter-gourd and tofu… It’s a perfect combo that warms the tummy and touches the heart.
