Hāto Bakes

Hāto (haato), which means “ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡” ❤️ in Japanese, represents the founder’s passion and dedication in baking and (un)coincidentally, her name!

A graduate from NUS majoring in Statistics, Chef Yi Xin’s interest in baking actually started way back when she was 11 years old. But like many Singaporeans, she took the safer route of securing a degree followed by a banking job before that fire in her belly finally nudged her to take the leap of faith to realise her F&B dream.

After ditching her corporate career, she packed her bags to New Zealand to pursue a Diplôme de Pâtisserie at 𝐋𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐮 to lay a solid foundation in her baking skills, and returned home just shortly before the borders close due to the pandemic.

Hāto Bakes currently offers 2 types of quiche at Culture Spoon. Be it sweet (𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬) or savoury (𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞), they’re a perfect snack for those looking for a quick bite, and pairs extremely well with coffee or tea!
