As a third generation Hainanese and descendant of heritage hawkers, Irene is a full-time IT professional who inherited her family’s passion for cooking and baking. She founded Hainam Noms as a tribute to her culinary roots, and she hope to recreate the nostalgic taste of homemade Hainanese cuisine and share her rendition of these dishes with the world.
Check out her signature Hainanese Pork Chop Burger! Marinated according to her grandmother’s recipe, the pork collar is deep-fried with a coat of cream cracker crumbs, and topped with a hearty layer of Irene’s unique sauce made with chopped Italian tomatoes. Served with soft bun made from an old school confectionery, it is an ode to tradition with a modern twist.
